An updated release of WEBLIS now available
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) financially supported a new release of WEBLIS, a free-of-charge Web based Library Integrated System based on CDS/ISIS.

WEBLIS is a free-of-charge Web based Library Integrated System based on CDS/ISIS. The system has been developed by the Institute for Computer and Information Engineering (ICIE), Poland, based on their experience in building library systems for international organizations such as FAO, IFAD and GTZ. WEBLIS runs through the WWW-ISIS engine, also developed by ICIE.

Thanks to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) financial contribution, the new release of WEBLIS is available in English, French and Spanish and contains the following new features:

  • The OPAC part provides access to the information resources of the Library catalogue in three languages: English, French and Spanish. In each language the database can be searched using a simple, advanced and command mode. The thesaurus mode search can also be used in the three languages.

  • The thesaurus associated with this version is the OECD thesaurus (with the English, French and Spanish parts).

  • The version contains now also interfaces in the 3 languages for the data entry and LOAN module (both data entry part and LOAN are now available in 3 languages).

Micro CDS/ISIS is an advanced non-numerical information storage and retrieval software developed by UNESCO since 1985 to satisfy the need expressed by many institutions, especially in developing countries, to be able to streamline their information processing activities by using modern (and relatively inexpensive) technologies.

The Acquisition module is now available in English. Release and documentation can be downloaded here:
